Films : Body Projections : all

animate! synopsis

Written on the body, a pixillated pillow book of all flesh, this film questions adornment through rhythm and ritual, dream and suggestion, asking why? Sex, territory or cellular expression?

short synopsis

Body Projections examines the human body through body painting, sound and pixillation. Rhythm, ritual and suggestion replace measurements and learning in an attempt to understand why we are drwan to body enhancement.

long synopsis

In Body Projections, rhythm, ritual and suggestion replace measurements and learning in a dreamlike exploration of why, as a species, we have such a history of body decoration. Using projected animation on pixiliated bodies, the film asks why humans paint their bodies – is it a sexual or even territorial gesture or are the body’s cells shouting out in self expression?
