AS Byatt on Portraiture and Place in Contemporary Animation 1 at National Portrait Gallery London
Thursday 9 March 2006 19:00
We are delighted to confirm that Booker Prize-winning novelist AS Byatt is our guest in conversation for Face to Place: Portraits in Public, the first evening of the three-part animate! series Tracing the Contours: Portraiture and Place in Contemporary Animation at the National Portrait Gallery London.
AS Byatt has been interested for many years in fine art and photography, and tonight extends her enquiry to contemporary experimental animation. The session explores how animation uses place, whether urban or rural, actual or imagined, to help create a dynamic and enhanced sense of individual or social portraiture.
More details here, including titles of the seven animate! commissions being screened and investigated.
