Sunday 16 July 2006 17:00

animate! raids the archive to hand-pick a programme of strikingly diverse and entertaining films at Latitude Festival, Mean Fiddler’s long packed weekend of music & arts near Southwold, Suffolk, and their most ambitious event this year. The visual treats on show include:

15th February by Tim Webb, Cowboys by Phil Mulloy, Dad’s Dead by Chris Shepherd, Miles from Anywhere by Gary Carpenter, Perpetual Motion in the Land of Milk and Honey by AL + AL, Rabbit by Run Wrake and Who I Am and What I Want by David Shrigley & Chris Shepherd.

These are followed by a retrospective of Shrigley’s other animated work including his groundbreaking videos for Blur and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and the hilarious Modern Thoughts for the BBC Collective website.

All of this, not to mention three packed days of live leftfield music, spectacle, documentaries, song vids and new soundtracks curated by Halloween, not to mention Latitude’s comic and satire stars, poets and authors, not to mention main-site headliners like Snow Patrol, Mogwai, Patti Smith…
