Also at NIAF, an all-day cross-disciplinary symposium interrogates artists whose work blurs the boundaries between animation, film, photography, fine art and artists’ film. In the final session on Wednesday at 16:30 Tim Macmillan, maker of two animate! commissions Ferment and Animal Tragic, discusses his time-slice process and more with animate! producer Dick Arnall.

Three NIAF seminars organised by FDMX, looking at technology and new practice in animation, include Straight Ahead on Thursday at 15:00 which addresses the impact of new technologies on creativity. The panel includes Paul Bush, maker of two animate! commissions His Comedy and Furniture Poetry, Gareth Evans, writer and animate! Editor, and Dick Arnall from animate!
